Before We Start!
So you have decided that you need a website! Good plan! But before we get started there are some basic questions that need to be considered. Take a moment to consider the points outlined below. Then give us a call and we'll take it from there.
- What is the purpose of your site?
- Who are you trying to reach?
- What would you like to see on the site?
- What are some of your favourite sites?
This may sound like an obvious question, however, if you aren't clear about your goals, your visitors won't be either. Please take a moment to define the purpose of your site. Try to distil out the essence of your site into a single paragraph or sentence. Of course the site may have other subsidiary objectives - please note them as well.
This is where you imagine the people who will use your site. Think and talk like your audience. Whatever the overall goal of the website, it must please the end users if it is to succeed. Look at it from their point of view, and try to provide information and services of value to them.
What are you trying to accomplish? Provide information? Sell a product? Recruit employees? Fundraise?
Provide some examples. We'll discuss what makes them your favourite.
The questions listed above are just some of the points to consider when planning a website. We'd be happy to discuss a complete website plan with you.
